GUESTS OF THE CLUB
Guests are encouraged when Members (32) are not available
Dana Golf Association has a Waiting List of players waiting to become Members.
Those on the Waiting List are required to pay the annual club dues, which provides each (in their order of Applied Membership) the following:
- SCGA Membership on Dana Golf Roster
- First priority to all functions (see 1.0 above)
- Rates the same as members at Stag and Couples outings
- Those on the Waiting List are expected to play with Dana at least four times per year (provided they are offered the opportunity) and maintain a SCGA Handicap.
- Those on the Waiting List become a Member when a vacancy opens and the remaining Members cast secret votes; four or more NO votes will remove the individual from the Waiting List and Membership is denied.
Dana also has an Associate Membership that is comprised of previous members-in-good standing; which are always welcome to play with the Club, if space is available. Associate Members may pay annual dues if they choose; which would avail them to the same opportunities as potential members on the Waiting List; if they choose not to pay the annual dues then they would pay the full amount at the Stag or Couples outings. All guests at the Stag or Couples outings must have a SCGA handicap.
NO SHOW
If a member cannot make a Dana scheduled function, they are required to call the Tournament Chairman 48 hours (Thursday night) prior to the function.
- If a Player calls after Thursday night he will be assessed $10 at the next function.
- If the Player does not call he will be assessed $20 at the next function
MAKE-UP MATCHES
Primary responsibility for making up postponed matches rests with the individual who requests the postponement. Occasionally there are reasons (family conflicts, travel and health) which make it impractical to make up a match prior to the next month's outing. On such occasions either of the two individuals may request that the Tournament Chairman determine the most appropriate way to resolve the dilemma. In such cases the decision of the Tournament Chairman shall be final. It is still the intent of the rules that the Players make every genuine effort to play the match prior to the next scheduled outing.
The Member who cannot make the Dana scheduled date must:
- Arrange with the Opponent, place (Opponent's choice), date/time (must be prior to scheduled date).
- Pay for the Opponents green fee (not cart fee), not to exceed the monthly dues.
- Submit completed (attested and points won) card to Tournament Chairman.
- Both members are still required to pay the Monthly Dues.
If the regular match or make-up match has to be canceled:
- Neither party can appear - No points awarded
- Member requesting make-up has to cancel due to business - Three points to Opponent.
NOTE: Opponent must play on Dana scheduled outing to earn the three points.
- Make-up cannot be arranged - Three point are awarded to Member.
NOTE: Member must play on Dana scheduled outing to earn the three points.
- In cases of emergency or hardships and at the start of the New Tournament year the Officers of the club may announce or grant make-up matches after a Dana scheduled outing.
WINTER-SUMMER RULES
If the course does not have a sign designating either, the course will be played by the rules of golf; DOWN-NO BUMPING.
Winter Rules are:
When posted or advised by course - Mark, Pick and Clean and place within six (6) inches.
CLUB DUES
Officers of the Club recommend Yearly and Monthly dues at the Couples outing for the upcoming year and must be approved by the members.
- Yearly dues are to pay for Member SCGA dues, California Golf Association dues, deposits for future tournaments, suite charges, booze and trophies for outings.
- Monthly dues are used to pay for golf at regular scheduled monthly play and defray postage and other miscellaneous costs. Monthly dues do not cover cart fees. Monthly dues are paid whether you play or not.
